Just had to vent. :("
500 TC at a Harrah's is practically nothing, so you're probably better off putting in the time on a penny slot. How long do you usually play per day, five hours? Try five hours on a penny slot, a penny at a time, that's minimum bet on many machines, as slow as possible, but keep a reasonable pace, there has to be some timeout period that you want to avoid. Try playing two machines at once. Harrah's gives credit for time on the machine, so that's what you're going for. Then go into the host's office and ask for a host on duty to review your play and see what you can get. It might take a while to remove the stain of being labelled a "video poker player" however. If you drink, try to visit the hosts while you're visibly drunk, that might help. If you're actually going for some TC goal, like say 5,000 TC, you should always do that in one day, then just milk the benefits till they run dry, and then repeat. Bob Dancer described the process more or less in a blog on Dotty's. The trick works at many casinos. It's much better to play all at once, then go on sabbatical for a while just collecting stuff and when the stuff runs out, repeat. This works at casinos that rate by daily average. By playing a little each day or each week, you're ruining your daily average. Better to play max and then min or none for a while, then repeat.
