[vpFREE] Where to go....?? Suggestions appreciated

Hi all,

I was hoping to gather some opinions / information from the collective wisdom of the VP experts on the forum.

My husband and I usually make one to two trips a year to Las Vegas and have always stayed at Harrah's/Caesars properties. We used to go more frequently and have (so far) always enjoyed full room, food and beverage comps. We play $1 single handed, 50cent triple handed and 25cent Spin Poker. My dilemma today is that, as you are all aware, there is often "Nothing good" to play in terms of payback on the VP and frankly, I'm a little bored having stayed at these same properties time and time again.

So, I was investigating the VPFree site and was considering staying at the Palms or Green Valley Ranch for our upcoming trip. Both properties seem to have a selection of higher payback VP and we have some business in Las Vegas, so these two properties were also appealing as they're not too far from our conference. We are 48 and 57 and don't mind a higher energy casino but REQUIRE a (nice) quiet room. We also love good dining options. We're not swimming pool or spa people and would not select a property based on it's entertainment but do prefer an older crowd.

What I was wondering was what I might expect in terms of comps if I venture to these properties instead of my good old standbys. One loss I'll suffer is a $350 free play credit if I don't book at Harrah's/Caesars. I'm also concerned that there would be no comps at all based on some of the reading I've done. We typically play 5 hours daily and are there for 4 days and play on the same card (so 10 hours * 4). Obviously, nobody can give me an exact scenario, but any comments or tips would be appreciated. Part of me wants to gamble and try something new but the other part of me wonders if reliable fun and good food might be my best bet.

Thanks very much!
