The interesting thing about the Straub article is that he was listening to a presentation from ivy league architectural grad students.
IMHO Revel failed because of two primary reasons..
One of which is the layout of the place. K, DeSanctis in his utter stupidity had a Parisian gal who had no experience in designing a casino be his main design leader,
Too many open spaces that sucked up utility bills
A terrible entrance to the place via a huge escalator.
Elevators that didn't go from the rooms directly to the casino. etc., etc.,
Could it be that ego-maniacal Straub is actually using some common sense in trying to find a fix ?
My two cents...".its over" for" Revel" as a half of the rooms opened non casino hotel.
