Interesting, I'm not exactly sure what the crime was? Was the crime using smart phones to record play and observe patterns? Was the crime observing patterns and only playing slots at certain times? Was the crime just winning and the defendents took a plea bargain to avoid a greater sentence, such as what?, 500 lashes or even the death penalty?
As a side note, the issue of "patterns" in slot machines only comes up when there are non-random elements or the pseudo-random number generator is of poor quality.
