I've never had issues with proper pts accumulating with multiplier days, Frances, as an 'out-of-town' visitor. However, on rare occaisions, when system upgrades sometimes occur, perhaps, or in wee late hrs (like post midnight, early 12am - 5am times of play), there may be delay on when the 'bonus' pts are added to the account. I think most casinos cover this with verbiage in the rules at the slot club- and most will update within 24-72 hrs (even that disclaimer is on my offers - i.e. - 2 free nights with 7x mulitplier pts on your play* *fine print states : "Base pts exceeding 10,000 per day on Video Poker are not available for promotional point multiplier. Multiplied points may not be available until up to 48 hours after earning base points."
And this is where vpFree database is helpful. For Sam's Town : each 'day' starts at 3am, so 3am - 3am counts as the day of play for my offer. For YOUNG at Heart, may be from 7am - 7pm, or now 7am- Midnight for 2016. Check all the rules - they are listed on a big banner in the Young At Heart Dwg area (Sam's Town) upstairs.
Bonus: I did get an additional $15 food voucher, printable after 7pm when I reswiped my card. It used to be after 300 pts earned from 7pm-midnight, (I don't recall playing much after 7pm); it doesn't take much time to swipe throughout the day to check your pts, etc.
For DAILY accumulation on any bonuses, the previous posts works. You can even just play 4 hands of VP ($5) worth or 5 pts, and if you know your starting balance, then pull card out, re-insert to see what the new totals are. Generally, at least at ST/GC/Orleans, my pts daily total and scrolling msg (at beginning when you insert the card) shows the updated 'bonus pts available (for comps or cashback - your choice)' as BEING MULTIPLIED as I have played. You do need to swipe first to 'activate' these bonus multipliers on the day you play. (at least at the Boyd properties, and Stations). I think So. Pointe may be automatic, but I always swipe at the Kiosk first, anyways, as an infreq visitor - to check balances/promos etc.
It's hard to keep up with all the monthly/daily promos, so it can't hurt to take the extra time to check pts/kiosk and/or slot club when you first visit - of course any pre-research can assist you in knowing what promotion you might be looking for (whether it be a 'bonus mulitplier', pts for gifts or food voucher, etc).
Sorry I got a little long-worded, but I hope that's helpful.
Martin
