I can attest to that. It's been a few years but 2nd Street Grill is outstanding. Like you said, a real gem.

The Second Street Grill at Boyd's Fremont Casino downtown is a gem hidden in a dump. Upscale steakhouse type menu with a bit of a pan-Asian twist. it is suprising to walk into this elegant room from the casino area. Food and service are outstanding.
