A lot of poker rooms give $1/hour comp. That's the same as a video poker player who risks $1,000 at a 0.1% comp rate. As a live action poker player you're probably not risking $1,000/hr. If you are you can probably negotiate a rakeback deal from the poker room. Table games, including those in the "casino pit", involve a lot of negotiating and tipping at the appropriate times. Nothing is really set in stone, it all depends what kind of deals you can negotiate.
