RE: [vpFREE] Comps

great point , especially for us tourists where the comps are of much more important than the locals, BUT must be careful when you negotiate anything.

Example : I been arguing with my casino host at a Reno casino for 3+ years regarding me being charged for a room that was promised to be comped, host used my points to book the room (without my knowledge ) as was supposed to correct it later with an offer for free nights that i eventually received , (but i never needed before, always just e-mailed my host and got the room)

The host at first said no problem , just a procedural thing that was just implemented , will take care of it. but he did not. and I was raised to having to play $400 to earn a point.

After many e-mails to my host with no satisfaction I quit the casino.

Shifted my play to Boyd properties in downtown Vegas where i was treated quite well until my casino host passed away, (ANOTHER story ,will be told at later date maybe ;-) ) and another Reno casino

I was contacted by the Reno casino to come back for the this years super bowl party with free nights and free play and I went back. Played only a little but i continued to get great offers . My host said AGAIN will fix any problem

I went to play on a 6x points weekend , after an 8 hour session with my lady playing on my second card also
, I got NO points !

Per the slot boothlings , " you never paid for that room so we are taking your points to pay for it "

I did not get upset at the dweebs , but i did go to the other casino i frequent to calm down some and to eat plus figure out what i am going to do next.

Check the kiosk and i had a free room avaliblle for next 3 nights. So I checked in, went back to the other casino and checked out 3 days early.

Sent an e-mail to host to ask for this to be straighten out and for me to get back my points . Got a BS response . SO I sent all of the e-mails we have had back and forth with an explanation to his boss. not a great idea LOL,

I since been block from pulling up my offers from that casino and my host removed himself from my account as my host. Calls to the web site to fix the problem resulted in "will call you back " and nothing. LOL

Moral of looooong story ?? some people negotiate better than others , but ALWAYS have a back up plan .

The other Reno casino loves me for now.

Working on South Point for Vegas, anybody knows a casino host there I can e-mail to ?

M J

ps : i did get $150 for my birthday from that Reno casino while this was all going on, so i played it and it only and cashed out $205 and left.
