It has been said: "... at the end of the day it doesn't matter if you made a good bet; what matters is if you win or lose."
As a proposed corollary: "I disagree with the last sentence. What matters is how much you get to keep!"
My take on it is, what matters is how much you enjoy doing what you are doing.
