Hello. I'm not new to VP, but I am new to some of the terms such as EV and EC. If it is not too much bother, could you please explain briefly what these terms mean?

you've got a bit of a learning ramp. for starters, I'd suggest reading through the VP glossary.

(if it opens strangely, just search on the letter "a" and it'll start spilling contents.)
when you find things in there that feel "incomplete" to your mind, Google the words you're looking for like, "define expectation mathematically" and poke around. you may not find everything you're looking for (EC could be an example), but once you've done a couple hours of reading you'll have a good foundation for more exact questions.
it'll be easier than it sounds and your understanding of the game will improve dramatically. I can think of worse ways to spend american tax day.
