The Palms has now put stickers (which you can hardly see in the light or lack there of) on some of the ultimate X machines in the highroller area (apparently the ones that have 9/6 double double bonus) saying "no points will be given."
I noticed this when I was playing today and realized I was not getting any points at all. This is unfair because it doesn't matter which game you're playing on these machines (For example I was playing deuces wild). If I had realized that I would've sat at the machine next to it which had the same pay table for deuces wild and would've given me points. Also even if ultimate X double double bonus may be positive if you know the exact strategy, I'm really believe that the only person capable of getting 100% on this game (and he's probably the one who caused the palms to stop giving points) is Bob dancer. The strategy is too tricky for almost everyone, and the volatility is huge, so except for someone who is an expert player like Bob, even this supposedly positive game really isn't. Getting rid of all slot club points on a game like this really isn't fair for 99% of the people playing it.
Unfortunately I think it is just a handful of super good players who have caused lowered pay tables and elimination of points on decent games all around Las Vegas.
Bob dancer has done a lot to educate VP players which might be a good thing. But unfortunately I suspect that he and he alone has also done a tremendous amount to cause good VP to vanish because he is such a heavy player on the good games and he is also writing all those articles about how wonderful good VP is. It is kind of ironic that all the publicity he has given to good VP has also caused the elimination of The very games that he made money on and enjoyed playing.
Other people who have publicized good VP plays such as Skip Hughes and Dan Paymar had a much lower profile as gamblers, so there gambling on good machines was not noticed by the casinos.
I am not saying this to criticize Bob, but just to point out that unfortunately his actions have been both helpful to people who want to play VP as well as ultimately harmful just because he has such a big bankroll and such a superior knowledge of the game.
At any rate anyone playing at the Palms should look very carefully on vp machines for little stickers that may say machines are not only ineligible for promotions but also now may say zero points are given if you play these machines.
