You certainly don't make NCL sound very enticing:) I haven't sailed on an NCL cruise since the NORWAY in 1999. NCL seems to have certainly changed over the years!
Strange about all many loud announcements. I've sailed on many cruise lines, everything from Silversea to Carnival and there were few announcements.
Usually the Captain makes an announcement at Noon, each day, noting the ships location, weather, events that evening etc...The morning of disembarkation
usually causes plenty of announcements but that's to be expected.
I play little in the casino on board cruise ships but I have to say blackjack is fun as it seems more relaxed than in Las Vegas.
I'm sorry to hear that you had space problems in your handicapped stateroom:(
