As a prior poster said, it is sad that more publicity is given for the Viva Vera Cruz show
at Planet Hollywood. These are talented, energetic dancers in a modern update of traditional
dances and are dressed in native costumes that are also modernized. Recommend the show.
However, hard to locate inside the casino and up some escalators. When I queried a couple
of kiosks where to find the show, I was told twice that the show had been cancelled. It was
not but with such information being tossed out, it is no wonder that the room was only about
a third full.
Bacchanal Buffet is expensive with a long line unless you pay extra or are 7 stars or diamond.
I was disappointed for the price paid for the offerings. The ingredients used are high quality
unlike some other buffets but I cannot eat that much food and felt nothing presented was
exceptional. I'd rather spend that amount of money at any number of sitdown restaurants
where I can get an exceptional meal for the same price. It was fun experiencing it once but
doubt I would return.
I just remember from the old days when they had the Bacchanal Rooms with toga clad waitresses.
My wife and I were young and naive and were really dazzled by that experience but doubt I would
feel the same now.
When I arrived at Lao Sze Chuan, I kiddingly asked the hostess if this was Lousy Chow and I
don't think she understood because she said yes. The room is very nicely appointed. Good
service. When there is one chile by an entree, it is hot. If there are two chiles, you better have
a cast iron stomach. The food was good but I think Ping Pang Pong is better and cheaper although
the surroundings are not as elegant. My companion enjoyed the meal.
