Saysitsme,
In response to your post
I'm going to presume that either you have rarely been to Atlantic City or you were one of those gamblers who were deceived by the July promo.
Your info about the July promo is mostly correct and that is the only thing in your post that it is accurate or shows any knowledge of the ACVP scene. The July can't lose promo was a disaster that could've been easily averted had Revel eliminated VP from the promo.
Let me address the other issues you brought up.
1.Smoking..When Revel went to smoking of course they opened on the playing floor just as EVERY AC casino has done. To Revel's credit they kept their 25% smoking area in just one part of the casino rather than several areas as other AC casinos have done. This basically made smoking a non issue under most circumstances.
2. VP pay tables... As every knowledgeable AC VP player knows 100% pay table VP games have long been gone from the AC scene. Getting 99-99.7% is the best you'll get in any ( and not all) AC casinos. When Revel offered 99.6% BP they were also giving .5% comp in addition to anywhere between .2-.4% Bounce back/FSP. You do the math.
3. Closing date..Revel management WANTED TO CLOSE on August 18 but last week the NJDGE forced them to stay open till Sept. 2 in order to have an orderly wind down of business.
4. Honorable casinos...Have you been reading posts over the years about shenanigans that various casinos have pulled at one time or another ? How about the infamous "..let's have a comp multiplier day but we'll lower the basic comp rate on that day.."
Good luck wherever your future gaming ventures take you.
