It's been years since I had any contact with Casino Player --- and back then they probably had a bit more integrity than they do now because Adam Fine was still alive. Even so, Harrah's was their biggest advertiser and the magazine had a philosophy of only saying nice things about big advertisers. Probably still does.
For example, in their annual "Best of" issue, usually the awards would be "owned" by Harrah's in each market. It's possible that their readers actually think that CET properties have the best video poker in Las Vegas --- I suppose. I'm not sure if that says more about the readers of that magazine or the way the magazine editors creatively counted the ballots.
