Okay, I am now clear about the basic change in the Stations program. It is now $1 coin-in=1 point but there is always 3x points – to keep it the same value as before. (This is what I wrote about in my last blog. http://jscott.lvablog.com/?p=3460)
The math that the status credits have had for VP since the last change did NOT change. Since 2011 it has been $1 coin-in = 1 status credit. (This is why there was so much complaint at that change! This downgraded comps big time.)
However, here is the issue that I am not clear on since I am no-mailed at Stations (thanks to a top-line royal on $1 Multi-strike) and I can't find out more information personally. Does this change affect many – most? – promotions that are based on "base" points. It would seem that in the new system $1 coin-in gets you 1 BASE point instead of the old 3 BASE points. Usually – always? – promotions exclude multipliers so it would seem that it would take 3 times the amount of play for promotions as it used to.
But what I need is PERSONAL experiences – not opinion here – or what MIGHT be. It might be too early for definitive conclusions. But if you get/see a promotional offer and it says that it is based on $1=1 point and you have a way to compare it with past promotions, then it would be nice for you to share it here. I don't immediately assume a casino is downgrading until I see proof. Maybe they will adjust their promotional offers to compensate for this new "base" number. Maybe they will offer some promotions that use the 3x all-the-time multiplier? (Okay – maybe I am a dreamer!!!! ) Whatever the situation, I need FACTS and personal experiences so my writing will be accurate!!!!! Can any of you help me!!!!
I also do not take what one employee says as gospel since so many of them do not get up-to-date information or they don't understand it. I usually want confirmation from more than one source. This is why this forum is a good way to confirm information in spite of the problem that some members sometimes seem to confuse facts with speculation.
