Wife and I took our first cruise on the Jewel last month (through Casino At Sea voucher).
We correctly guessed that a lower deck window would suit our needs fine, as we spent very few waking hours in the room. But we happened to wind up directly below the casino. And while nearly all the soundproofing was fine, there was one specific slot machine over our bed that whenever it went into the bonus round we could hear tinkling high-pitched music for 30 seconds at a time. Woke the wife up twice. I tuned it out after the first night, but mostly we rooted for people to do poorly on that machine. We played less than 30 minutes the whole cruise. Just couldn't justify playing 95% VP as "entertainment".
My only, apparently common, complaint was the terrible tv channel selection. I noticed it more because it was during March Madness, and we had two ESPN channels, but one showed only soccer, the other only cricket.
