Re: [vpFREE] Spending TR credits

BG,

We're in the same boat.

We've maintained a Diamond status for about 15 years now, and will never chase 7 Star status.
Once we accumulate the required credits for another year as Diamonds (usually sometime in August) we have the same dilemma.

We have accumulated a large # of R.C.s but are hesitant to use them on non gambling days. The same applies to Diamond lounge visits. We don't want to be "tripped" and damage our ensuing offers, but by the same token, once we've reached Diamond status for another year, we would rather play our V.P. at non CET casinos that at least have 99.54% (9/6 JOB) games at something less than the $5 level.

Without our free room offers from CET and the occasional free play or free tournament buy in offers, we would abandon CET properties in a heartbeat. Of course,if we don't play V.P. on any given day and use the Diamond Lounge or use R.C.s for a meal or even just a cup of coffee, our subsequent offers will dry up.

I guess that if CET keeps downgrading their paytables on V.P. machines, we'll soon vote with our feet and go elsewhere for our gambling.

It's a shame, as we travel from the Carolinas to Nevada 6 to 8 times a year and also go to a number of CET properties in other states, but I'm tired of giving up over 1 1/2 percent playing V.P. at CET properties, when I can have a fighting chance at other non CET properties and get comparable offers.

It's a bit of a Catch 22.

I understand (sort of) that going to a property and not playing, or playing a very small amount, and on the same day using some comps (even a Diamond Lounge visit), can be harmful to one's future offers.  By the way, I assume that staying off the VP machines but playing live poker with a players' card does, in fact, register as "playing a very small amount" since live poker generates very few points, but will show that you were there.  If I have any of that incorrect, please correct me.

My question is...How about going to a property and not playing, but using TR credits to, for example, "buy" a meal?  Is that also harmful?  I'm just curious because I have a lot of TR credits to "spend" (I know I shouldn't be saving them up, but I usually don't want to "waste" them unless my wife is with me for a nice dinner, so I usually let them accumulate and use them minimally when gambling solo), and little reason to play anymore, having already earned Diamond for the year, and with no intent of going for 7 Star, and with few if any "good" machines available - so I might want to visit a property just to have a nice dinner with my wife, and not to play, or to play live poker only and no VP (or other slots).

Thanks!
