At Borgata in Atlantic City which is operated by Boyd, I have had player cards expire. They also track the number of active cards & require new ones to be issued. The new ones look the same as the old ones with the same account number printed on them, but the card reader knows the difference. I don’t know if this practice is common to other casinos.
