Okay,
I freely admit that if I am in a casino that has Ultimate X, I will give the machine a quick check to see if there are any multipliers. If there are a bunch of machines with many games on each, I will usually just check the double double bonus since that is where I've found most of the multipliers.
I was at a local casino and saw another UXer find a $0.50 5 play machine with a 2x multiplier on line 4. He sat down, looked at the rest of the games ( nothing else of interest) and then made a cell phone call. Another person came over, took his seat and then made a cell phone call. Finally she put some money in and played the game. One coin per line. I think the base game was double double bonus and even assuming it was a 9/6 paytable, his find is worth ( .97 * 6)/5 * $2.50 or about $0.41. There were 3 people involved and it took them about 10 minutes from finding the play to actually playing it.
Now, I understand 1 coin vs 5 coins on UX but I don't understand why they played 5 coins total instead of 4. 4 coins would have still gotten the multiplier and your profit would be ( .97 * 5)/4 * $2.00 or $0.42. You would make more and risk less.
Times must be very tough in the hustling community to play this single coin. Even with 5 coins, the play is only worth ( 0.99 *6)/5 * $12.50 or $2.35. That sure seems like an awful lot to give up by only playing 1 coin per hand. I should have bought the play off of them for $0.50.
