It may be legally right, but it aint right, if you know what I mean.
Was in town at the various Boyd properties when this mystery multiplier bogusness started (at Suncoast between Christmas and New Year's). I always got 7x points, but did not think to check the fine print. They have very flashy signs--win up to 50x...don't remember any fine print, but I'm sure it was there. So what the boothling said was, if you play for any decent length of time at all, the multiplier "won" doesn't really matter at all with regards to how many points you will accumulate--you'll be screwed by the 10,000 limit on all VP multipliers, or you'll be screwed out of the bonus on your tier level, or you'll be screwed out of this multiplier's fine print.
I know Bob Dancer reads these pages; seems like a good topic of discussion for Gambling with an Edge, because Boyd sure dulled our "edges" with this one.
Good thing I left town before I got "lucky" and hit 50X--think I might have snapped if they tried to shaft me like this. And I "WAS" one of Boyd's biggest proponents.
