[vpFREE] Re: Flooding in Vegas

I remember being in LV during a storm that turned the strip into a river and left the strip without power. We were staying at the Desert Inn, it was late and folks were gathered in the lobby. We were on the 3rd or 4th floor and inquired if those magnetic keys would work without power. Answer was yes, so we said we were going to go up the stairs. Before we got there, a bellhop with a large flash light was at our side and accompanied us to our room. We opened our curtains and had a great light and sound show from the storm from bed.

I miss that place. Best service of any casino anywhere. Ever. Once, I was sitting at a bank of video poker machines when an 80 year old slot attendant came down the aisle. The woman next to me jumped up, gave her a hug, said she'd missed her. Then she pulled out a wad of twenties and gave them to her. "Whaaat?" the old lady asked. "I won a jackpot down at Bally's, but the service was awful, so I saved the tip for you!" Now THAT is loyalty. Did I say I missed that place?
