[vpFREE] The transparency of Riviera's weekly freeroll slot tournament

I found myself in the area of the Riv this past Wednesday, so my friend and I decided to invest 5 minutes of our time in their weekly freeroll slot tournament. After banging on buttons for about 240 seconds or so, my friend finished with what appeared to be a pretty impressive score. It was impressive enough to warrant a return trip later that evening to see if he won anything. We were told the final results would be posted at the players club at 8pm.

When we returned at 8:30, we found the results were not posted anywhere. I approached the cage and asked an attendant where the results could be found. I turns out they do not post the results. The attendant takes your players card somewhere in the back, checks a computer screen, and then tells you if you've won or not. Neither of us ranked high enough to win anything. And when we started asking basic questions, we were given no answers. The attendant could not tell us where our scores ranked. He could not tell us how many points the winners scored. Could not tell us anything except we had not finished in a paying position.

I'm curious what others think of this practice. The lack of transparency is somewhat troubling. I realize this is a freeroll, but the complete lack of disclosure with regard to the results leaves an awful lot of room for manipulation on the part of the casino.
