Googled "States That Pay Out Biggest Lottery Jackpots" and the return to players for the best is less than 70% with many around 50%.

Tis an amazing site to behold when loto fever strikes and the lines are out the door. I'm trying to buy a gallon of milk but just end up drinking my coffee black.

Never bought a ticket. Might get addicted. Already have multi-strike and super times pay monkeys.

But if you factor in their Powerball tickets they are being taxed to death. Because that's all Powerball is to me, a de facto tax on poor people. It's a game instituted by the states to sucker the working class out of their meager earnings. The state governments wind up with the bulk of the money and in the end the Feds get a big chunk too via tax on gambling win.
