If any stranger comes up to you while you are gambling and offers to "help" you with anything (learn a new system for making money on Ultimate X for example) or sell you something (their wedding ring for example) or ask you for money, etc -- DON'T. And if someone or something distracts you like this or by telling you you have ketchup on your back or you dropped money or anything else, be on the alarm and watch your wallet or purse.

The ring scam has also been going on forever in Las Vegas. With the huge turnover in tourists it's the perfect place for the hustle. Someone approaches you appearing to be a busted out tourist gambler looking to raise a little cash by selling thier coveted 14 carat gold ring. Whatever price you negotiate, if it's above $10 you lose....because that's about what the person paid for the ring in one of the junk jewelry shops down on Fremont St.
The "busted out tourist gambler" has his own 14 carat gold stamp. After stamping the ring he rubs cigarette ashes in it to give it the appearance of being worn. He makes quite a good living selling "14 carat gold rings" to tourist suckers.
