I think most everyone understands that "ordinary" players will have a resort fee tagged on that covers a few amenities, whether those amenities are used or not - and that Platinum and up will have the resort fee waived.
The remaining question, the answer to which is NOT yet clear to me, is whether the waiver of the fee is or is not accompanied by the retention of the amenities. -- in other words, "ordinary" players MUST pay the fee and get the amenities. Do Platinum and up, who do not have to pay the fee, AUTOMATICALLY get the amenities due to their Platinum (or higher) status, or, in the absence of paying a resort fee, is it now up to the property as to whether or not to comp those amenities and whether or not to include them all or to just comp some of them?
It's been a while since I've stayed anywhere (and it was an island vacation property, not a casino property) that charged a resort fee, and back then, I just told the front desk I didn't intend to use the included services and didn't want to pay the fee, and with a little bit of "push" (the initial response was that it was charged to everyone), I was able to get the fee removed. Obviously, it's always possible for a disgruntled guest to get something like that adjusted, although with no guarantees.
