While I agree with the above assessment of what can be done to an individual by a casino and be considered "fair", the fact that advantage players can be altogether banned from play under the trespass act suggests to me that lesser penalties could also be levied. The rank and file unknowledgeable gambler certainly thinks it's wrong to use the trespass act to bar individuals from playing because they are using their brains to get an edge - but it's allowed, and done all the time.
In blackjack, players can be barred from play, and can also be limited in what they are allowed to do (I once played next to a player who was counting cards out loud, but who told me the casino would only let him vary his bets by a two to one ratio; I assume they felt they could impose such a restriction on a single player at a table of other players not subject to such a restriction, because if they wanted, they could make him leave the premises).
I agree that it seems that taking away comps already earned, especially if they have value such as cash or otherwise taxable value, seems like something that they would be hard-pressed to get away with, but anything oriented only to the future would have very few limits, I'd think.
I think it was Louie Anderson who did a bit about being barred from a chinese all-you-can-eat buffet (funny routine - stuff like "you go home now, you be here four hours, you scare my wife, eat some vegetables" etc.)
