Hi Gang:
When you play as many hands as we do each year, you're sure to see some odd
happenings and this past weekend at Harrah's AC Hedy and I experienced a
number of odd twists and turns during our VP sessions.
First, on Friday, Hedy -- who had never been dealt a multi-line royal until
our recent NCL cruise aboard the Epic (check out my latest trip report on
_www.tomthebombpicks.com_ (http://www.tomthebombpicks.com) ) -- wandered
over to the triple-play joker poker progressive bank. The dealt five aces
jackpot was over $87,000 so she wanted to take a shot.
Sure enough, after about 10 minutes of play she was dealt a natural royal
flush in clubs! Talk about frustration. A grand total of 1,500 quarters
($375) instead of $3,000!
Then, on Saturday, I was playing quarter 10-play quick quads when I was
dealt aces and a kicker! Unfortunately, I was playing bonus poker and the
payoff was $1,250. Don't get me wrong. It was a welcomed hit. But, I usually
play double double (and sometimes triple double bonus) on these machines and
I couldn't help thinking about the $5,000 or $10,000 payoffs I could have
had if I were playing those games.
The topper came later Saturday night when we were back at our usual haunt
playing $1 9/6 DDB. I was playing along when suddenly I was dealt a straight
flush ... 3-4-5-6-7 in clubs. I told Hedy about it and continued to play.
No more than five minutes later, she came around to my side of the bank to
announce that she was also just dealt a straight flush, 1-2-3-4-5, in clubs!
Very weird.
Regards,
CoachVee & Hedy
