C'mon, people, it's the PALMS. Regardless of whether it's still the "in"
spot it used to be, the younger crowd is definitely their target audience
at night and that shouldn't be a surprise to anybody. The issue with the
music has been endlessly hashed out on this group for years...I was there a
week or so ago and the music they play is modern and at a level so you can
actually hear what the song is, which is fine with me. (Maybe they need it a
bit louder to drown out all the "screamers".) And, if I were sitting
around a casino and a middle aged woman walked all the way across the room to
tell me I was having too much fun and then called me a name, I'd be inclined
to look for someone from Security.
I actually have a lot of sympathy for the "placebound" issue that Misscraps
has with the Palms..I have a similar feeling about the places I walk to
here in town...but the reality is, you either put up with the shortcomings of
the places that are convenient to you or you find some way to take your
business down the road. (Which is really easy if you're in the Palms
neighborhood.)
I'm not sure what some of you other old duffers are doing in the casino
that I'm not, but I've never gotten close enough to some young hipster chick
to have them spill a drink on me, much less be able to look up her skirt.
Between this and the extended Medicare discussion, some folks might start
thinking there's nothing but elderly curmudgeons posting here.
