That was a year ago as the article indicates and I couldn't find any other info to indicate it has closed again. The article mentions all new beds in all rooms but some of the reviews on Yelp and trip advisor say that the reviewers beds were warn. I've decided to skip the area and go straight to Las Vegas.

I'm not sure where you heard that Buffalo Bill's is closed, but there is no indication of that on their web site. Many of the restaurants at the 3 properties are closed but the hotels and casinos are supposedly open. I read the reviews of the hotels on Yelp and Trip Advisor and we have decided to just keep driving and get to Las Vegas

Don't play on Buffalo Bills...it's closed for now...
I stayed at Whiskey Pete's about 10 years ago...it was OK...but nothing great...
Maybe try Gold Strike in Jean, I hear for $3000 coin-in, they'll comp a weekend room...
