[vpFREE] Joker Jackpot

Hi Gang:
A interesting thing happened to me this past weekend at Harrah's AC and it
brought up a couple of questions that I hope the folks on these boards can
clear up.
I was playing 9/6 DDB at our usual bank of machines near the Total Rewards
Center when I looked over and saw that the nearby quarter joker poker
triple-line progressive jackpot had gotten close to $7,400. Since I wasn't
making much headway playing DDB, I figured I'd throw a benji into the joker
poker bank to see if I could get lucky.
I sat down at the end machine on the far right and began to play. I hit a
straight flush early on to keep me going, then I was dealt four natural
sixes but the joker was nowhere to be found on the draw.
I continued playing for another 15 minutes or so when I was again dealt
four of a kind, this time three fives and the joker. I needed the five of
hearts to complete the 5K. Hedy had come over to sit next to me by this time,
so we held hands, I held the four fives and hit the draw button. Eureka! I
saw the five of hearts hit the bottom line so I threw my hands up in the
air! A nice $1,000-plus jackpot! But, wait. I looked again and saw that I had
gotten the same five on the top line as well! My machine locked up and the
box on the screen said I had hit a jackpot for $2,049.75! Wow! The five of
hearts on two lines!
Which brought up the first question. What are the odds of getting the one
card you need on all three lines?
And the second question: If I had gotten the five of hearts on all three
lines -- as unlikely as that seems -- would that have won me the big
progressive jackpot?
The sign above says that the jackpot is paid for "five of a kind on all
three lines." The implication is that it has to be DEALT, but if it is drawn
on all three lines that seems to fill the qualification as well.
Anyway, I thought the members of these boards would probably know the
answers to both these questions. Hedy and I very rarely play joker poker so
we're not familiar with the rules.
Thanks in advance for any help on this.
Regards,
CoachVee & Hedy
