Hi Gang:
Team Vee is back in town after an amazing 18-day overseas trip that began
in London (for 2 nights) and then continued on a transatlantic cruise
aboard RCCL's Jewel of the Seas that visited France, Ireland, the Faroe Islands
and Iceland.
We did encounter some bumps along the road as the ship slammed into some
overhead power cables as we entered the port of Klaksvik in the Faroes, then
we had to do an end run to avoid two storm systems in the North Atlantic
(resulting in us bypassing the port of St. John's in Newfoundland). The
final stumbling block came when we had to divert course to rendezvous with a
launch from Halifax to transfer a sick crewman to a land-based hospital.
Quite an adventure, but the sights and sounds were spectacular, especially
in Reykjavik.

Came home to find an interesting Columbus Day weekend offer from Harrah's
AC. It involves a progressive multiplier that gives us 5X points on Friday,
10X on Saturday, 15X on Sunday and 20X on Monday. You must, however, put 50
base points on your card each day to keep the progressive part going.
Still, a very interesting promotion.
We'll be back home at Harrah's this weekend, eager to see our casino
friends again after a long hiatus.
