Just unsubscribed today due to too much email to get thru & vpFREE is the
biggest digest. Even though I've learned how to say "No", I'm not saying it
often enough as I get involved in too many local issues.

I'll continue to contribute whenver I have anything useful to add. My vp
career is not over but is seriously being cut back to accommodate my other
  activities.

I want to thank a lot of people from the early days: Lenny Frome, John,
Skip, the authors of VP Tutor, my best friend Greg R who gave me a masters
level course in comps in the mid-90s & there are bunch of others too numerous to
mention who have enabled me to take the Journey (saw them several
times--comped of course) thru NV with great pleasure. Even though there were moments
of great frustration due to the inevitable streaks (still learning to
control my temper after all these years), all in all it's been a grand experience
& will continue to be as I just continue to gamble more for fun now.

As an illustration of how help can come at you from any direction, 10 years
ago I loaned/gave $20 to a slot hustler who ran out of money in Reno. I
never thought I'd see him again. A couple of months later, he saw me in Tahoe &
surprised me by running up to pay me back & gave me a tip to go over to a
bank of machines that high rollers from Reno were playing. To humor him, I
did just that knowing that he was directing me to short-pay triple plays. It
turned out to be KBJW, FULL PAY with 4700 royal!. While the high rollers were
playing $5, I played at the $2 level, got a royal, then went home. I never
forgot the results that came from doling out a small favor .
