In the last 5 minutes of last week's show http://www.slot-machine-resource.com/podcasts/jbeen2.mp3 I mentioned a cheating incident that occurred in an invitational tournament I attended recently. We'll be talking to Snyder about how rampant cheating is at poker and how players should protect themselves against it.

Bob, I think the guy got away with palming the three big chips because it was a shoddily run tournament.
They could have counted down the chips before the first round, then counted them down again after the first round, but that is not a very good solution, in my opinion. It opens up too many cans of worms. If there are chips missing, who stole them? They could review film and might find the culprit(s). Or they could watch the second round closely to find the culprit(s). But it's all too much work. The easy solution is to use different colored chips for the second round.
I think the old saying "Screw me once shame on you. Screw me twice shame on me" applies here. Were I to encounter a tournament of that structure in the future, I would have to make my concerns known to tournament personnel before the tournament starts.
