No, you could always get both discounts. After you paid cash, then insert your card at the pump and the pump would go down another nickel. Btw, Boyd tells me it was Rebel that cancelled the promo on them without much notice.

Am I right that you couldn't get two 5-cent discounts – the Boyd one and the one for cash (rather than credit card)? We use the cash one now although it isn't pure "profit" since we could use a credit card and get 2% cashback.

I can confirm this - I tried using my Boyd card yesterday at a Rebel, and after swiping it the screen says "No Bonus" or "No Discount".

I checked inside - one employee told me he hadn't heard anything, but he asked the other staffer who confirmed that the promo is over.
