[vpFREE] REVEL INFO

*got a phone call from my host at revel--who had been my host at a previous
property--and finally got some info--but take it with a grain of salt. my
host is, of course, new, as are all the revel policies, so we won't know
for sure until we get there (if then....). anyway: hosts have
the discretion to comp your first two visits (room--so i'm booked for 4/7;
4/2 is 'soft' opening night). after that, you have to use your resorts
(rewards) credits, so, of course, i asked how much vp dollar through does
it take to earn one credit; my host didn't know but will find out and get
back to me--claims the comp rate is the best anywhere--we'll see. you also
can convert credits to play right at the machine, one-to-one ( ! i don't
see how that's possible if points are also easy to accumulate, but, again,
well see). there is only one card level, same for everyone, so apparently
everything will be decided by recent play, credits in your 'bank', and host
discretion--no living on past laurels. interestingly, the only way in is
through the front entrance; there will be no boardwalk entrance. nice
concept to try to keep supposed 'riff-raff out, but will mean more walking
if you don't use a car. just compare walking from taj front doors, out to
street, over to revel, up to their front entrance, compared to walking the
boardwalk from taj to revel. well, that's all i know for now. will follow
up when i hear about $thru:credit ratio for vp. i hope others who are
hearing from hosts will fill in/correct/add, etc. i'm sure it's going to be
a *very* beautiful environment; but will the vp be playable (i didn't ask
since i'm sure my host wouldn't know)? rooms are limited, so make your
reservations now, if you care. see you there. :)*
