If you left click on the date hyper-link only some browsers can play the file as streaming audio.
The more sure fired way to do it is to "right click" and use the "save as" feature. Then save it to your HD and play it from there. My guess is you are having browser incompatibility issues. All browsers can download the file, but this has to be done with a "right click".
