I walked into a veterans club in a sleepy little mountain town in Montana. I was looking for the Jackpot Aces glitch. I went into the casino. The slot attendent said
"Can I get you anything to drink?"
"A cup of coffee, black, sweetheart."
When she turned her back I started punching the game up on the machines. A few machines later there it was. The Aces Full meter was a little over $100. But there was something else going on. The Four Aces meter was a little over $400. What the hell? That meter is supposed to start at $150. I go through all the machines. 3 machines had the play. And the Four Aces meters were all above $400.
I went to the bathroom and pulled out my pocket calculator. The extra 500 bets divided by 5365 came to 9.3%. I'll be a son of a bitch. Now I got myself a 23%er. That is, at least thru making 4 Aces at least once. No telling where the meter is gonna reset once I hit the Aces.
I go out and start banging away. The slot attendent kept coming over and looking over my shoulder watching me play. I could tell she was very curious as to what I was doing. I decided to pump her for information.
"Does anyboby ever hit the 4 Aces around here?" I asked
"Sometimes." she said
"How often do they come up?"
"A couple times, last week."
Damn! Damn! Damn! I thought. I got competition. Looks like I'm gonna have to torch this one.
Shift change at the car wash. The day shift slot attendent got off at 4 PM. A new attendent had arrived. The day shift attendent left the casino for a little while, but then came back in, sat down on a machine and started playing Jackpot Aces. Oh, so she's the competition. A little while later a man came in and spoke to her then sat down on the other machine and started playing Jackpot Aces. It turns out he was her husband.
They were playing but they were also whispering to each other and looking at me. Every time I hit an Aces Full hand they would whisper to each other then give me a blank stare. I hit the Four Aces and the meter reset at $400. They gave me a blank stare then whispered to each other. I don't think them two like me too much I thought.
to be continued....
