Well, since you weren't going anyway, scratching the ticket didn't cost you anything.
I don't know if $50 would be worth making a trip to the casino, but, if it is, here's an idea. Get in line at the slot club to cash it, and, when next in line, act like you're scratching if off. See the $50 win. Clearly be excited as you get to the window/desk, and tell the boothling that you just couldn't wait another 30 seconds and had to start scratching then and there.
That should work. Oh, and throwing the boothling a red bird and saying, "When I win, everyone wins too" wouldn't hurt.
Of course, I know you already thought of this and maybe another 10 ways to go with this, so this post is really for others here who may not be as crafty.
