You refer to one of my favorite songs, "The Last Resort", and one I have done karaoke many times, but you didn't list the best part of that lyric:
"We satisfy our endless needs and justify our bloody deeds,
in the name of destiny and in the name of God"
There may be a slim hope for us, but I've never known hope when it wasn't on a diet.
