Competition is clearly an issue, but I think the key problem is that people have just tightened up.
We made a long swing Saturday through Borgata, Resorts and Taj. I wouldn't deem the volume of players on any of the floors disappointing.
But it's my guess that people aren't willing to drop the bucks they once were, and that this represents a frugality that people may be slow to shake even as the economy improves.
