Who is Rob and why does every questionable character look like him??

It happens frequently in Las Vegas. I suspect they thought Starhunter
was someone else. And in my experience, casino security guards are
some of the most insecure, power hungry individuals in existence
(really, how many stable individuals want a career in "casino
security"?). It doesn't take much to raise the ire of these wanna-be
cops.

OK, now you're tickling the reptile part of my brain. In the past I worked
full time and now part time as both armed and unarmed security. 90% of my
fellow guards are mentally ill and about 10% are gun happy. You'll show up on a
site as relief and they have to show you their collection of guns spread out on
the passenger seat. And, this would be at an unarmed guard at an unarmed
post. A lady guard would show up in her truck, get out and you'd see she was
wearing a holster with a gun in it. This was near MLK and Alexander, North Town
where its very illegal to have a gun except for special circumstances. The
site was an unarmed site and she alluded to not having even a conceal carry
permit, complained to the office of my company and they ignored me. She would
frequently be loaded on pot when she arrived. Complaint, ignored. The reason
is it's so hard to find employees who will show up at all.
The Jewlery Show. you know how Metro has the SWAT team on the roof of the
Sands Convention center? Inside every other booth has an armed guard at night.
From first hand experience I know many of the armed guards have no gun
license at all. The Security company ignores state laws to make more money. Watch
for a bloody mess someday when there's a robbery attempt. Untrained unlicensed
armed guards shooting at the robbers and each other and yes some of them
look like Rob.
This is true at all low paying jobs in Vegas. Notice if you buy food from
Jack In The Box there is no phone number on the receipt [except the store
number] to complain if you are short changed. Look in the phone book, no number to
complain. Go on the web and they have a comment form you can fill in but...
try to finalize and send it by decoding the wavy word. I tried six times and
my answer was rejected. I finally called "Jack" at the home office in San
Diego. Meanwhile "Michael" the cheating employee Finished the rest of his shift
polishing his dishonest skills. And... he looked a little like Rob.
There used to be about 60 security companies in Vegas, now maybe 150. Call
up any company and ask, "What's the purpose of having a security guard."
They'll lie at first and say, "To protect your property." If you keep asking they
will have to admit what the State of Nevada says, "To observe and report."
That's true of casino guards too. They have no business for example of having a
running gun battle like we saw on the robbery tape at the Gold Coast a couple
years ago. But like Mickey Crimm stated the Nevada law bends in favor of
casinos. All security guards are there as a deterrent to crime. It works too. A
burglar seeing a sleeping guard on a construction site would rather go to the
construction site down the street with no guard at all. I reported to a
construction site for the swing shift once and the Super, who might have been
Rob, came up to me and said, "See those 20 condenser boxes?" [the outer part of
AC units for apts, full of copper tubes] "They'd be a great bed to sleep on
huh?"
If you ever see two security guards talking they are usually discussing
dreams they'd had while asleep on the job. One of my dreams was somebody was
walking in between the construction equipment, I woke up and there was nobody
there.I was sleeping once in the cab of a CAT D10, my boss came on the site for
a post inspection. He climbed up the side and knocked on the door. I woke up
startled and said, "Mister. You're not going to steal THIS bulldozer."
Sometimes I sleep so much on the job, I go home and I can't sleep.
