Well earned second retirement. The environment changed so you had the best years of the run and left nothing on the table.

It appears ALL new banks of the full pay machines with signs over them advertising their return no longer accrue points.

[vpFREE] Just venting (LV trip ...)

I've been in town since Sunday night ... doing my best not to embarrass myself sans Bev's gentle guidance ;)

This trip represents my annual September pilgrimage to earn out my mLIfe Platinum (the $5/tier pt earn in MS, from my home in metro Atlanta, is a renewal hurdle I never quite surmount without some LV contribution).

Started off with a very pleasant stay downtown at GN, which I supplemented with a first-time one night stay at the D.  I was pleasantly surprised with just how much I enjoyed the D.  Taken for what it is, it served up a very relaxing and comfortable stay and will likely become my new "go to" when I'm looking to bridge a trip with a day or two of lighter play.

So, I moved over to Mandalay Bay this morning for a 2 night run ... my first stay here in over 10 years.  For some time now, MGM has been my mLife mainstay and, to put it mildly, I feel more than usually "taken for granted".  (I don't need anyone to faun over me, but I've become a non-entity with the host who I've known for 15 years.)

So, I've enjoyed my run "off the leash" thus far this week, but have been eagerly waiting Bev's arrival tomorrow.   After the 2nd night at MB, we were due to finish out the stay with 2 nights at Cosmo, beginning Friday ...

... until she called this evening to say that she "feels like crap" and is bagging on the trip :(

Crushing disappointment.  To her credit, she's been extraordinary on the travel front.  She's still hard at work for a few more years, so I treasure it when she can break away for a weekend.  No way I'm doing Cosmo without here, though -- the only appeal there for me is what we would have enjoyed together.

So, I'm re-booking into a red-eye home tomorrow night.  Sigh ...

Re: [vpFREE] Harrah's Cherokee

That is certainly true, Harry - 36 years of an unbelievably successful, luxurious, and just plain fun life.  Happy memories to carry into a new phase of our life with more relaxation and family time.

While I'm sure there's an element of sadness in Jean's comment, I suspect the greater emotion at play is simply one of gratification.   Jean and Brad have excelled in making casino play enrich their lives.

In their shoes, I'd be very content to largely close the chapter on out-of-town play (at least cross country, in any case ;) .

Because Brad is very frail and really did not feel well enough to play, I only played enough  to run through free play. (The only reason we made the trip was to collect about $2500 in cash and free play.)   It was definitely our last trip to Cherokee and perhaps our last visit to a CZR casino.

[vpFREE] Re: Vegas honeymoon. Things first timer might like. Suggestions young folks.

A reply to me.  The Plan ...

1  DAM is a must do. at least 1/2 day. On the way  Walk thru Sams Town, nice buffet as I remember.

2  Downtown, another 1/2 day.  Don't know where to park car there. Used to park Golden Nugget.  Binions to
see million in cash as suggested here.  Have fun and win some.

3 Red Rock canyon.  See the view & maybe a Burro.  Not enough time to hike.  Nice  for young folks.
Good place to visit as we will be staying Red Rock 3 nites.  Great hotel. Great buffet.  Great place to be.
    Great place to play.

4  Walk the Strip, Self park at Mirage or Fashion Show mall,  easy access to Caesars.   See the fountains at
Bellagio.  Leave for hotel late enough that  Strip not loaded with traffic.  Drive the Strip not busy Late nite.
Heard Treasure  pirate  show gone?  The Strip close to Gold coast where we are spending last days of trip.

5  Last day spend whole day in Gold Coast a place I really like.  It's friendly and relaxing.  Call Lyft, have driver
take us through lites to the airport for last look see.     Homeward bound on Red Eye 11:30 PM.

I'm not recommending shows  as  newly weds have both seen them locally and in AC.
Vegas takes at least 5-6  hrs  unless show is where you're staying.  Drive to venue, park, walk in etc. etc.
They will have plenty of time to visit  Vegas in future.

Just sharing my plan and thx for ideas. Any suggestions let me know.

You all have nice day.....Jeep.

I was not able to check all the NSUD machines this last weekend, but I did see that dreaded sticker ($25 to get one tier credit) on all the ones in the High Limit and in the non-smoking section.  Perhaps someone else will confirm the situation on those in other locations but I would guess it is the same.
