Some members here may already be familiar with the lack of a 6X multiplier last Wednesday's on My Generation day, Feb. 22. The reason for the lack of a multiplier was touched on by vp_a_gogo in his post on 2-5. This collect gumballs waste more of your time at a kiosk promotion was done at all their properties on the first three Wednesdays of this month, and on these days, all of us old farts DID receive a multiplier. However, on 2-22-17 when you were to experience the grand reveal, mystical, magical appearance of your massive reward of points, there was no way in hell you were going to be entitled to a point multiplier on that same day. Please be aware that with the huge numbers of senior players at all 9 of their fabulous properties here, retaining a point multiplier AND goofy gumball promo would have cost them thousands upon thousands of additional pennies. I was on kiosk swipe duty on the redemption day of Feb.22 for my wife and I, and I am quite sure steam could have been spotted coming from my ears after swiping both cards and seeing that each of us, both Chairman level players, received a humongous 2,000 boarding pass points for redeeming our goofy gumballs.
As a real world example of what is written above, on that day may wife and I accrued a combined total of 10,935 base points during our play. If the casino would have offered the My Generation 6X multiplier that they have offered us older players for years, this would have generated a little over $65 in cash back to us for that day's play. However, when you consider the GRD (that's Gumball Redemption Factor, because as some may know, in the 21st century of progress, we don't usually need actual words), the normal 3X points daily multiplier kicked in making our cash back worth slightly less than $33. So, to compensate us for the reduction in the multiplier, they gave us each the $2 worth of boarding pass points. During my redemption choice, the marketing mavens had displayed what other choices were available had I chosen a different gumball, and the top pick would have only awarded 2,500 points, worth $2.50. Here is where I might need some help, as I am a dumbass hillbilly from Rocky Mount. Was the old senior day method of having the usual 6X multiplier, or the new and improved senior day gumbally type method better for a player?
The previous sarcastic sentence might wake up a Station's marketing executive if he or she were to read it, but I wouldn't bet on it. Besides, I am not so sure that they would be able to do the reading part. How can a major casino remove a benefit given to players for several years and then be so blatantly incapable of hiding the value of the replacement promotion? I am reasonably sure that I possess more of the characteristics that CEO of SpaceX, Elon Musk will be looking for in astronauts for our future trip to Mars, than some of these casino marketing maven have in designing promotions. I suspect that all of the people that understand how a corporate casino is supposed to operate are either retired or dead!
Let's now make a bad decision even badder. Let's look ahead to March for the formerly fabulous senior day promotion. When you go to any of the Station's venues websites, and click on the My Generation icon link, you will see that for March, you will only have the multiplier for one out of the FIVE Wednesdays in the month. That would be March 1st only. If you scroll down the page, you will notice the newest LMAO promotion called : PRECIOUS PRIZES FREE KIOSK GAME, with the following details:
"Collect gems on Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays. March 3 - 26. Come back and turn your gems into points on March 8, 15, 22 and 29!" Does this sound familiar? Like been there, done that recently? Gee--- aren't the 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th Wednesdays?
Station's advertising slogan of "We Love Locals" has been quite known for a long time. The new version should read something like: "We love locals, unless you are one of those born around the baby boomerish era, then in that case,
F**K Y{}U! Do the casinos know how much our business means to them on Monday's through Thursdays? If you agree with me that they don't understand that we are a substantial factor that helps them keep the doors open and remain profitable during the work week, then come March 8th, show them.. Head for your favorite Station/Fiesta/Wildfire location and feel free to take advantage of half point dining, 4 $ movie matinee, half point bingo, etc., but don't wager a damn dime. See what they might think of us older players then. After you have enjoyed the discount activity of YOUR choice, stop by the rewards center and fill out one of those comment cards. Someone might actually read it. Before I stop boring you, I would like to mention that there was another change that I noticed at their properties. Some of you that did play in the last week may have noticed that the annoying Station's casino audio infomercial patting themselves on the back at how great they are that they blast over the P.A. system , were missing in action. I can hardly wait to see what grade of wool they are going to use to pull over our eyes in the improved versions.
