[vpFREE] South Point June mailers

Normally SP has four weekly Tues-Thurs mailers. Not this month because on Tuesday June 21 they will be installing a new slot system.

Week 1: W-F June 1-3

Week 2: Tu-Th June 7-9 (this is normal)

Week 3: Tu-Th June 14-16 (also normal)

"Week 4": Sa-M June 18-21

There appears to be no promotions this month --- including no double point days.

Bob

Have you tried the highest rated email app?
With 4.5 stars in iTunes, the Yahoo Mail app is the highest rated email app on the market. What are you waiting for? Now you can access all your inboxes (Gmail, Outlook, AOL and more) in one place. Never delete an email again with 1000GB of free cloud storage.

[vpFREE] Re: LV Sun: Casino promotions - 29 MAY 2016

http://lasvegassun.com/news/2016/may/29/casino-promotions-may-29-june-4/

A few more tidbits I got from the slot clubs -

Palms - Mystery Multipliers May 31-June 3 - We must take the kiosk voucher to the slot club for this. (This was not necessary sometimes previously.)

Tuscany - Free Play Fridays - There are five levels we can earn. Lowest is $5 for earning 500 points. Highest is $100 for earning 10,000 points.

Tuscany - Scratch and Win Saturdays - We can earn a max of four scratch cards each Saturday for 250 points each.

Gaughan Junior, manager of Rampart Casino, in addition to downgrading video poker also restricts winning video poker players. Anyone who hits a hot streak there either gets no-mailed or has their players card revoked. And everything counts against you - machine wins, drawings, bounceback, discretionary comps, everything.

Come on iguana, no one with even an iota of common sense would hold the flush instead of keeping the 4 card Royal. Sometimes you say the silliest things to justify your crazy plays.

Another possibility is that he was playing max non-Royal strategy (found by setting the Royal to zero), in which case his play would be correct and not an error at all. Since the player was supposedly a "smart person", whatever that means, that's probably what he was doing. This would be mathematically correct if the total true value of the royal, including all contingencies, was actually zero, or in a range near zero, or if the player was playing min-cost-Royal strategy with enough perks to cancel the Royal. "Smart people" often like to be mathematically correct, so again, that could be what he was doing.

I once had a birthday freeplay postcard depicting a birthday cake where
the flames on the candles were scratch-off areas to reveal a freeplay
amount. Holding it up against a bright light revealed that all of them
had the same amount :-/

SB wrote: Reminds me of a similar situation when casinos mail you scratchers where you pick 1 of 3 options to scratch off at players club to reveal your free play amount. Casino does not want you to know which position the best prize is in, but once they send me a scratcher and it is in my possession I have no qualms about using whatever techniques I can to discern where the largest amount resides. Some are easier to crack than others. At one store I had a better than 90% success rate. I never once considered this cheating.

________________________________

Perhaps 10 years ago (might have been more --- it was back when George Maloof ran it), one month the Palms mailed you a sheet of 20 or so scratchers each of which were only good for a particular day. A high intensity light shone through the back told you what was available. It was not totally random --- VIP players got better scratchers than non-VIPs on average, but even VIP players got some 2-for-1 buffets. These were completely worthless because these same players got 75% off their buffet using points and to use the 2-for-1 coupon you had to pay retail --- but occasionally there were 3x or 5x point multipliers. If you knew which day the "good" ones were coming, you could plan accordingly.

As it happened, a frequent casino gift given away at the Palms in that time period was a pocket high intensity light --- so most of us had the ability to figure out the "code." (A lot of us gave these lights to slot attendants in lieu of tips. They were very good for that. But hopefully you kept at least one.) The Palms management of the time learned from their mistake and didn't repeat this particular error in the future --- but I have been able to use it elsewhere a couple of times so I still keep a high intensity flashlight.

There are always a few people who live within walking distance from any given casino. For the rest of us, it takes some effort to make a trip there. In Vegas and certain other places as well there are a number of casino options and time management is part of the problem to be figured out. Anything to get more information on how to make better choices is appreciated.
