Re: [vpFREE] Re Tahoe for families

OK…no, a baby doesn't often care what is happening around them. However, one obviously cannot take a baby whilst gaming, into a movie (at least, I personally don't want to be THAT person whose baby is ruining the movie for everyone else), on a difficult hike, on a jet ski, etc. So, that's why I'm asking. The information that others have given us about things like boat cruises on the lake, scenic drives, the cable car, etc., have been very helpful. So, thank you to those people for the help. The whole point is to make sure that if my wife and I go and bring the baby, that one of us isn't going to be stuck in a hotel room doing nothing but baby sitting. It sounds like there's lots to enjoy with all three of us, though, including some great scenery.

Cheers.

This, now, is the last of this low-rolling report. We still did a lot
of coin-in, about $200K. No wonder my fingers are sore.

[vpFREE] Anyone taken the Free Casino Shuttles by Fashion Mall?

Hey Group,

was wondering if anyone has ever taken the free shuttles posted on LVA.

I'm curious as they all seem to stop at the Fashion Mall -- Do they just park (double-park)on the street? Are they labeled with their respective casino name/logo? Do they wait at all?

Basically, are they worth it?

Any information, opinions, experiences and reviews regarding these shuttles would be appreciated.

TIA,

MS

[vpFREE] Re: Harrah's/Harvey's Lake Tahoe

"Is there a consensus in terms of a preference towards one of these two properties?" I don't think so- no consensus. They charge more to stay at Harrah's over Harvey's, so there is a perceived tilt to Harrah's. Rooms at Harrah's have two bathrooms (at least every room I have stayed in) and just one at Harvey's. Both places are very nice. I have stayed in both places many times, but I can't say I like one much better over the other.

Traveling with a 9 month old can be tough. Others have mentioned a lake cruise (there are many choices), Heavenly Village and the Gondola are a good idea. Will you have a car? Taking your 9 month old down to the beach might work. Get him a bucket,a shovel and set him down in some sand and he will be happy. You can drive west on Hwy 50 and you will come to El Dorado Beach and a little further is Regan beach. If no car- you can take the city bus that has stops there. There are many nice beaches at Lake Tahoe, but some are a bit further.

There are still some decent plays at South Lake Tahoe. Oh, if you are a Sigma Derby fan, MontBleu has two working units.

Tahoe is drop dead gorgeous, has lots to do outside the casinos, and is
one of my favorite places to visit. Take the Tahoe Star for a tour of
Emerald Bay. Walk over to Heavenly Village and ride the gondola. Be sure to get
off at the first stop and enjoy the view. Gondola doesn't stop there on
the way down.

If staying at Harrahs, try for an Executive Room or nicer. The rooms
facing south have the better view. I've never stayed at Harveys but my mom
enjoyed her stay there. I've had better luck in Harrah's casino while my mom
did better at Harveys. We both preferred Friday's Station over 19 Kitchen.
UMMV as others prefer 19 Kitchen to Friday's Station.

Rent a car for a day and explore. Have an excellent yet casual lunch at
the restaurant located at Camp Richardson or an excellent and slightly more
formal lunch at the Lone Eagle Grill, Hyatt Regency, Incline Village. If
you rent a car in Reno, take the scenic route via the Old Mt. Rose Highway
to the lake. If you don't rent a car, the South Tahoe Express is an
efficient and affordable way to get to the south shore and back.

If you're looking for a vacation, go to Tahoe. If you want to play
machines 24/7, stay in Reno.

Re: [vpFREE] Re: Harrah's/Harvey's Lake Tahoe

Park a NINE MONTH OLD in the arcade??? For the life of me, I just can't understand why anyone would take a baby to a casino. The smells alone would have me leaving baby home. Maybe with family? There can be sick or undesirable people in casino settings.

They're like Siamese twins, joined at the hip by their connecting tunnel. Park the 9-month-old at the arcade and flip a coin to choose which casino and which hotel.

Re: [vpFREE] 9/6 JoB at Cosmopolitan

I don't understand. If I go in and hit them up for a couple of $10 royals and a hefty net profit because of it, why isn't that worth getting banned from playing any further vp at the Cosmo? Or does this OSN share their analysis of lucky/knowledgeable players with all casinos?

Last I heard, the inventor of "Oregon Surveillance Network" has a high position at the Cosmo. OSN is a company good at "game protection" who keeps track of knowledgeable and lucky players --- not always distinguishing between the two. OSN long ago replaced Griffin as the agency feared most by blackjack counters and other advantage players. Anyone hitting a couple of $10 royals or more there would likely come to the attention of OSN --- and that's not a good thing if you wish to continue playing. For this reason, I have yet to play a hand at the Cosmo --- even with the 2x cashback promos at the start when they had high limit NSU. Far too dangerous, even for someone like me who is already high profile. For someone who is a strong player but isn't high profile yet, you probably shouldn't even look at the building from the freeway. Bob

[vpFREE] Hard Rock - Tampa

Just spent one night there. The casino has just opened a large addition, which makes it the 4th largest casino in the US, according to the local paper. It now has 5,000 slots.

There is a new bar, overlooking the swimming pool, with $2 9/6 JOB. It is a pleasant way to spend the afternoon, sipping Coronas, playing VP, and watching the beautiful people at the pool.

To top off the pleasant afternoon, I hit a RF for $8,000.
