I can easily name two reasons off the top of my head:
(a) to know how to look out for and protect against it*
(b) to know what sorts of things you might do innocently that would cause
you to incorrectly be mistaken for someone who is doing it
there may be others.
*Since most of the people reading this probably don't own their own
casinos, reason (a) doesn't apply so much in this case, but is useful as a
general rule. e.g. if more people understood how e-mail fraud scams
works, fewer people would fall for them. Or, Mickey's example about
detecting cheating in live poker.
